It is amazing how their love story unfolded from their engagement shoot late last year up to their wedding celebration! It is very rare to find two people so much in love for the Heavenly Father and each other! They are a joy to be around and their beauty shines through in interacting with them and also in the pictures.

I had such a great experience with Awe and Elandi! They such great people to be around with and I can't wait for the wedding later this year! It's going to be epic!
Awe and Elandi's wedding will be hosted at the Zebra Country Lodge in Pretoria, and they asked that we do the engagement session there as well. So we decided to have an early morning safari...we ended up to be super early...even before the sun was up. This allowed me to do a night shot in the morning...!
And the light was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Wow. I am definitely doing this again!

Families are one of the most important things in this world, and Andre & Marlene's families are just amazing. From the engagement shoot to the wedding, I had the most amazing experiences of both their families, and now in front of God, their families have come together. It was such a privilege to photograph a part of their story, and it may have rained on the wedding day, but the blessing of the Lord are on your marriage and life!

I just loved my time with Irene & David. We had this huge plan of doing the shoot in between pine trees, which are almost like a little forest just outside their estate. But we soon realised that it was located inside someone's yard and we had no access to it...oops. So I had to put my thinking cap on ones again, and I had to improvise! I love these moments which allows me to show one of my clients that I can think on my feet, which is so very important when strange things happen on your big day!
We still used the area in front of their estate, but I ended up shooting with the trees in the background! The results are epic, and Irene & David looked amazing on their engagement shoot! And Irene couldnt stop laughing. They are such easy going and fun people!
Irene also asked me to incorporate their two dogs in the pics and they added a cool element to shoot way at the end of the day!
I also played around in #Photoshop to create the double exposure shots, and they are definitively my favourite shots of the day! #shotoftheday
Can't wait for their wedding next year in the bushveld!

I really got excited when Nicky asked me to be a part of this styled shoot, and it was going to be held at one of my wife and I's favorite venues, Buitengeluk. We stay literally a few minutes away and we visit probably weekly for coffee or lunch.

Stepen & Gena's urban e-session in the inner city of Johannesburg!
Wow. This was a super fun shoot. We got to go to the inner city of Johannesburg to do an urban shoot, and Stephen & Gena just rocked! They looked absolutely exquisite, and I just love the way that they contrasted with the surroundings...amazing!
I had a bit of a laugh with Stephen because he was very stiff and on his nerves, and I had to train him in front of the camera. The greatest moment for me was when we were almost at the end of the shoot Gena said: "Wow, I have never seen Stephen smile this much". Thanks for the compliment.
I so wish I was going to take their wedding pictures, which I am not. They already have a photographer booked, but I can just imagine how wonderful their weddings pics are going to be!
We had an interesting moment though during the shoot. My camera was almost nabbed. There was a guy who came up to me and asked that I take a picture of him, but while his buddy was behind me looking for an opportunity to nab my camera (I didn't know this, Gena told me afterwards). Gena went into a praying frenzy and her faith got us out of that situation. The 2 guys left us but our nerves only really settled once we left the area after the shoot.

What I recently realized was the fact that Karen Kelly (Lovilee) and I attend the same church. So I met up with her, had a great coffee at The Whippet in Linden (Oh I love this place) and we just talked on how we can start a journey together as creatives. So what happened is that she asked me to do a mini styled shoot of her patio in exchange for a listing space on her blog, and the rest was history! Amazing. I just love it when we as creatives can work together and assist each other.

Love and calmness just oozes out of Hermien and Eben, they have the most beautiful children Emma and Leah. Emma is the eldest, and isn't she a cutie. Leah is the baby and her eyes just melts anyone who looks at her! I had so much fun doing this shoot!
I met up with them at Delta Park, which is one of my favorite photo destinations. This time I was surprised to see how long the grass has grown, and at first I thought it was going to make my life hard to take pictures, but actually it created for such beautiful pictures!

Charlotte and Darren's small but very intimate wedding was held at Shelanti Tea Garden in Centurion! I just love this venue and the Chapel is just amazing. Charlotte's make-up was done by the Glam Squad, and they did such an amazing job! Her dress was from Vanilla in Centurion Mall.
The day was full of special moments, and it was a privilege to be a part of this wedding!
One special moment was Darren's wedding gift to Charlotte. He gave her a Mercedes GLA, and he just melted her heart even more with this incredible gift!

Wezo & Tammy's love story is live!
Wezo and Tammy's love story is live. Their wedding was held at Avianto Wedding Venue in Gauteng!
I am a work colleague of Wezo, and it was an absolute pleasure to be entrusted to capture his big day. He is such a warmhearted person, with a driven personality.
When I met Tammy, she completely overwhelmed me with her open heart and authentic personality, and love just oozes out of her heart! Tammy’s dress was made by Diamond Love, in Killarney Mall, and she definitely made a statement with her beautiful red Nine West shoes. Her ring was also made by American Swiss.
I had so much fun capturing their day! We ended up being a bit late…or rather very late for the ceremony, but I am sure all South Africans have some sense of African time…things like these create memories that lasts a lifetime.
It was a first time to do a wedding at Avianto Wedding Venue on my own, and Enes Kamanga did an awesome job! I have assisted weddings here before, and every time I am back here I get a sense of overwhelming beauty and majesty!

Nico and Laura's family shoot at Cape L'Aghulas Lighthouse was just epic! I had so much fun!
I was on holiday but I decided to do a few family shoots at the beach seeing that we lack a beach in Johannesburg! So Nico contacted me and wanted to do a shoot as a Christmas gift to his wife, Laura.
I just LOVE this place!
We decided to go to the Lighthouse at the tip of Africa, the Lighthouse at Cape Agulhas, and this is not far away from where the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet. The Van der Westhuizens always come to Struisbaai for December holidays, and it is a place that is known and dear to them. So I was privileged to do this shoot, and Grandma will just love the family picture she wanted to be framed in her house!

I am looking forward to the wedding of this amazingly beautiful couple!
Maryke and Ivan blossomed in front of the camera and I thoroughly enjoyed capturing their funky engagement shoot. Maryke's mom works at Roedean School South Africa and she organised that we can have the shoot at the school, which is such a beautiful venue. The gorgeous historic buildings, the lawns, the view of the Johannesburg General Hospital chimney in the background, and the majestic gardens makes this a stunning venue. The school was opened in 1903 and there is a lot of heritage here, and I believe that it meant a lot to Maryke to do this shoot at the school.
I definitely take my hat off for Maryke, because she had food poisoning or something on the day. Every 20min she had to go to the bathroom, and she still smiled and looked so beautifully. And Ivan looked great as well. It's always a challenge to capture photos of a photographer, which meant that I had to up my game. The amazing reality of this is it shows in the pictures! I believe this shoot came out amazing and that they will have a good taste of the pictures to come at their wedding day!

The church I go to, Reformed Church Linden (GKL), hosted a Praise & Worship GIG Concert at the Louw Geldenhuys Primary School. The concert was held on the 23rd of August. The GKL Praise and Worship Band led a community of Christians across all different church denominations in song and worship. There was also performances of well-known artists such as Joe Niemand, Retief Burger, Elvis Blue, Chris Chameleon, Helene Bester, Cobus Bester and Deon Meiring (Glaskas) who will all unite in praising the Lord.
What an event it was! I believe the pictures reflect the passion and energy of the day and the performances, but I also believe that "performance" is not the correct term. The day was full of praise for the Lord and I believe the pictures reflect the way the Spirit has moved in the heart of Johannesburg!
All the Glory goes to God!
